Sample Case

Philadelphia A 55-year-old foreman for corrugated box company had a 6,000 lb. roller come loose from a machine and strike his knee. He had severe pre-existing degenerative joint disease in both knees. His employer allowed him to return to work on light duty for two weeks, then fired him under accusations of unsatisfactory work over the past year. After the surgeon testified that a new work injury occurred and the trauma worsened his pre-existing disability, the employer finally relented and agreed to reinstate the Worker's Compensation claim to pay benefits.
